What an incredible year..!

A year ago this very day, we came together and resolved to do whatever is possible in our powers to give back to the needy. This resolution eventually progressed into incubation of T2K Foundation !

Thanks to each one of you who supported us – today we’re celebrating the first anniversary of our togetherness to ‘give back’.

What an incredible year !

In the course of last one year we could extend our helping hands to five needy families. Collectively we contributed ₹2,49,050.00 focusing on educational support and medical aid.

Giving is not about just making a donation. It is about making a difference. — Kathy Calvin

As it is very important to us to make sure our help makes the right impact, we accept proposals to help, which are recommended by our volunteers — needy families or individuals that are directly known.

Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family. — Kofi Annan

The first opportunity presented to us was of a needy student – seeking support to cover tuition fees – from a family that was sailing through troubled waters. T2K Foundation believes in the power of education and the positive impact it can make in families and our society. With our collective effort, we could raise enough money to take care of a year educational expenses for this student.

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. — Gandhiji

As we have read, in every community there is work to be done, wounds to be healed and hands to be held. It is very rewarding to see our contributions in medical aid, helping recovery of individuals and families. In the last one year, we contributed to ‘Nisha chikilsa sahaya samithi (Koilandy)’** and ‘support for continuing medication for a 16 year old ITP patient’. We could also raise enough contribution to fully fund TURP Surgery, an integral step in recovery process of a person who suffered a stroke attack.

It also gives us immense pleasure to announce that our activities are (internally) audited successfully and we are in the process of external audit.

None of these would have been possible without the immense help, enthusiasm and support of each one of you. A big “THANK YOU” once again for being with us in in exercising the principles (tattva) we believe in, by our humble yet impactful gestures (karma).

— T2KF Team

** Note: We are using names of beneficiaries only in cases where there is already a publicly visible action council or ‘sahaya samithi’ that we contribute to. In all other cases, we protect the identity of the beneficiary. All registered volunteers/members who contribute to the aid, is given details on the beneficiary and nature of the aid. We also do follow up with the cases we helped with, and all contributors are kept informed.

Our First Initiative

What the best and wisest parent wants for his own child, that must the community wants for all its children” – JOHN DEWEY, U.S. Philosopher and Educator

It usually takes a while for an individual to think of helping others. But it seems perfectly natural when we did it as a group. We are a group of friends who have come together to help the poor and needy. We would be highly contented if a small contribution from us, can bring a smile on someone’s face.

We are extremely pleased to have supported a family by helping for their child’s education. He is the only son of poor man who was running a small vegetable shop for a living. The sudden death of his father left the family in dark. He was pursuing diploma in a polytechnic and the family did not have anyone to provide financial support to continue his education. We came to know about this through one of our friends and decided to help by whatever way we can. Thereafter, we collected contributions from each individuals and transferred a small fund to the family.

12/01/2016: We conveyed our condolences and expressed our moral support by handing over a letter in-person through one of our team representative. May the God bless him with good health and courage to live better, to complete his education, and to fulfill his dreams whilst to support his mother and younger sister.
